Echa - ICT Support


Our client European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is looking for ICT Support for a fixed term employment relationship. The position is starting as soon as possible and will continue until 31/12/2022. The work environment is very international and youthful and the office is located in Helsinki city center.

The jobholder will undertake an active role in several tasks related to the support of the IT Service Management function for EUCLEF (European Union Chemicals Legislation Finder) including playing a central part in coordinating and smoothly executing related IT maintenance activities, e.g. implementation and delivery of changes, enhancements, as well as further integration with other systems.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a motivated professional with experience/capacity to work with IT-based processing tools, databases and procedures preferably in the field of information on chemicals (e.g. dissemination processes and tools, integration with external data service providers).
The preferred candidate is fluent in written and spoken English, with strong communication and organisational skills, proactive with capacity to achieve a thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task, has experience in working with business stakeholders and integrates easily in a multicultural environment.
S/he is able to perform well under tight timelines and can work with several parallel activities. Working experience in an EU organization, a public administration or in a multi-cultural environment will be an asset.

Tasks/Duties

-Support ECHA' team in identifying the resources needed for execution of the tasks of the IT Service Management function, monitoring the execution of the work, ensuring the timely delivery of all scheduled milestones and regularly informing ECHA staff of the progress of the work assigned to him/her or performed by other teams/functions in the Agency.

-After the roll-out phase the EUCLEF service, the system is in change management mode and a number if improvements or further integrations will be implemented. The tasks in this phase will focus on the delivery of the changes to be agreed. The tasks include management of the change management process end to end, e.g. achieving alignment amongst the user representatives (product managers) and ECHA management, coordinating for the implementation, testing, deployment, etc. In addition, tasks include leading the change advisory group, a body that manages the daily change management (e.g. examining changes requests, putting priorities, following up on the implementation and the delivery of the changes, etc.).

-IT service management:
A service is established to take care for the needs of the users during the production phase and provide the required support for them. The main duty is to ensure that the service is running smoothly. This requires coordination and interaction with different parties, e.g. contractors, product managers, and other key players in this area.

-Work closely together with all Teams and Units in the Agency (Product Management in A4, Substance ID team in B1, Data Management team in I2, Website team in A1, etc.) to ensure cooperation.

-Participate in EUCLEF Core Team meetings.
