We are now looking for a Senior Solution Design Engineer who combines technical expertise, customer understanding, and a passion for development - and brings these into our modern data center environment.
In this role, you will have a direct impact on how backup power and data center solutions are designed, offered, and delivered to customers. You will play a key role in defining technical solutions, performing cost calculations, and designing customer-specific systems. You are responsible for the development of the ePOD product designed for data center customers.
Your workplace is in Tuusula, where we mainly work on-site. The job requires occasional travel readiness to visit customers and suppliers.
Responsibilities include, among others:
- Acting as a technical expert and designer at the customer interface: defining and designing solutions, and preparing cost estimates for the offer phase.
- Actively participating in project development, offer, and order phase discussions in collaboration with the Sales Director.
- Leading customer-oriented design during the project development and offer phases, contributing to the design work, and coordinating the efforts of commissioning engineers, mechanical designers, and electrical designers.
- Being responsible for cost estimation during the offer phase of projects, thereby supporting the Sales Director in proposal and sales activities.
- Ensuring that, after the order phase, production and the design of production drawings proceed with the project team, design team, and suppliers.
- Developing the ePOD product targeted at data center customers: gathering customer requirements and translating them into technical specifications and practical implementation.
What we're looking for:
- A relevant technical education, such as bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, automation, or mechanical engineering.
- Experience in technical design and customer projects - especially within data center environments is considered an advantage.
- Experience with design software and its use (e.g., SolidWorks); the ability and experience to perform mechanical or electrical design independently is considered an advantage
- Good communication skills and the ability to work confidently in customer-facing roles.
- Strong skills of English language, both spoken and written. As we operate internationally, English is the working language. Fluent Finnish language skills are an advantage.
- Ability to understand complex systems and combine technical expertise with business thinking to create viable solutions.
- Ability to take responsibility for design and product development - Experience with backup power or the ePOD product is considered an advantage
